Low Volume & Whole Vehicle approval co-ordinator

Mark Aston, has worked for the Morgan Motor Company for three decades covering most areas of the business, including factory management, employment and development. During the early 1990s, Mark switched roles to concentrate on successfully moving Morgan from low volume approval to European Whole Vehicle Approval. He was also instrumental in taking Morgan to the USA and other markets.

Mark has a unique understanding of all aspects of specialist motor manufacturing and legislation.

As Chairman of the Specialist Car Manufacturers Group at the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT), Mark is working to improve the understanding of the affects of legislation on small volume manufacturers and also the manufacturers’ understanding of the legislative process. He is currently working through several committees on the revised European Whole Vehicle directive, End of Life, Recycling and other important changes.

Since 1992 Mark has been instrumental in organising the prestigious Morgan Challenge race series, including the technical regulations and sponsorship. Mark has been a key advisor since he met Jock Freemantle at the Morgan Motor Company works in 2004.
